As soon as a warm day arrives after a frigid winter, I take the opportunity to canoe kayak with a friend. It is early Spring, but is the water too cold to catch any fish? Check out my latest video! Plus, there are Robins exploring the grass, looking for yummy treats. The early bird catches the worm, right?

fun things to do in the finger lakes – camping, hiking, paddling, fishing & farmers market
March 13, 2022

In this special edition, I take a road trip to the Finger Lakes region of New York State. I camp in a very modern cabin that looks like a tiny house in Buttermilk Falls State Park. On this adventure, I also hike the falls, paddle in the channels of Ithaca, visit the famous Farmers Market and do tiny fishing in Cayuta Lake. Check out my video and enjoy!

drawing: giant tortoise
March 6, 2022

I’ve been meaning to draw a Galapagos Turtle for a while. Here, the Giant Tortoise finds a lone berry tree. The tree is just big enough as a snack for this big turtle’s appetite.
Please feel free to check out my other outdoor and nature drawings at my shop.
video: are there fish in a dead shallow canal?
February 28, 2022

In this episode of my Bite-sized Fishing series, I wonder if there are fish in an urban shallow dead canal. I toss a tiny jig with a fake worm to see if there is anything down there. Also in this video, I am surrounded by a variety of birds, big frogs and a turtle, enjoying life near the water.
Check out my action-packed video!

video: catch a winter big carp challenge + chatty blackbirds
February 11, 2022

This episode is filmed in the Winter which can be tough for fishing in general. It is a 48-degree day, and I challenge myself to try to catch a Carp, which are a big-sized fish, from my canoe. Can I catch a carp with stealth, persistence and a lot of patience? Check out my video :)
Plus, I see a cluster of noisy blackbirds in the trees.
video: winter canoe fishing before lake freeze, first catch of year & kingfisher sighting
January 23, 2022

Welcome to my Bite-sized Fishing series in the New Year! This is the latest in the winter season I try to catch Bluegill and Perch, before the lake turns to ice. Plus, I get some sightings of the awesome Kingfisher bird while on the water.
This was filmed in the week after New Years Day when there was a warmish day of 48 degrees. I brave it because there is no wind to ruin my canoeing experience. I simply use a live worm as bait because none of the fish were interested in artificial baits, this time.

video: tale of two tiny lures, each catch a big fish
January 16, 2022

Here is a bonus video from the recent Fall. I do canoe/kayak fishing, during which I used two tiny baits. One bait is a new Mini Chatterbait from Z-Man, and the other is a piece of Berkley Nightcrawler on a dropshot hook. Each one catches big coldwater fish, including my personal best Largemouth Bass!
In this video, I do my best impression of David Attenborough, from the Blue Planet series. I do narration to create a story-like effect. Let me know how much you like my British accent!
