When I began fishing as a youngling, I always wondered if fish hide for cover from the bad weather. In this episode, I challenge myself to catch fish on a cold, windy, overcast day, in the fall time. I use the good old live nightcrawler with the intent to catch Carp, which taunt me, but I get surprised by catching a nice-sized White Perch and a Big Bass in a shallow flat part of the lake.

Plus, as a birdwatcher, I like seeing so many Starling birds, feeding and flying in a cluster, this time of year. And I am blessed with a double rainbow in the end!

In this Bite-Sized Fishing episode, I cast for various panfish, using a 3-inch Grub by Yum. The fish are modest in size, but all-in-all it is a perfect day to paddle and do some leaf peeping because there is no wind and the water is so calm. I slow things down and enjoy nature, creating a sort of ASMR video to share with you. Check out my outdoor video and let me know what you think.

In addition to the beauty of autumn colors, I see a Piper bird, a Blue Heron and maybe the last Turtle of the year?

fall leaves

November 20, 2009

I’ve collected a pile of leaves this fall season, while walking the dog.  I can’t seem to identify the round one (middle, lower row).   It is not as common as the maple and oak species, and it has a interesting pattern of veins.
