In this special travel adventure episode, I spend a long weekend on the island of Nantucket off of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, by bicycle, without a car. I share with you what I learn about the ferry transportation, some historical sites, beaches, and nice bike trails. Plus, I carry my KastKing Blackhawk II Telescopic Rod and try my best to catch a fish.

Please note: On this Nantucket trip, I brought my own bike (and backpack of personal items for overnight stay) to the island. There are bike rentals in downtown as an option, if you don’t have your own. Also, the Whaling Museum is must see in downtown, however the museum was closed on the days of my visit.

Hi all. Winter is here. I hope you are all are getting outside despite chill in the air. As for me, I am still trying to do paddling and fishing in the cold.

A friend of mine is going away to college, and I will miss her. She is smart, bubbly and full of energy. Loves to tell me drama stories about life. But best of all, her smile is infectious.

I do a drawing to bid her farewell. She is standing at the foot of the famous Arches, because she loves to travel and to hike too. My illustration symbolizes her free-spirited attitude and to wish good luck on her new adventures.

drawing: tiny house

Do you like to travel to different cities and yet feel at home?  Don’t want to be stuck in mortgage debt for rest of your life? Well, Tiny Houses are becoming a popular life choice. You can customize it to fit your needs. All for only $20K to $50K!

Whoa. I’m starting to sound like a commercial announcer. I’m not, I’m just an artist.

My drawing, here, is a traditional style tiny house, complete with vinyl siding, tin roof and plenty of windows for lots of natural sunlight.

The big question is:
Can you live in 200 square feet of space?

photography: comic con 2012

This past weekend was the Comic Con convention in NYC where geeks gather each year, including yours truly.

Needless to say, it was a challenge to snap photos in mediocre lighting (I try not to use a flash) amidst the ever-flowing crowds. Though, with the help of my trusty, fast Sony dSLR, I managed to capture some images to share with you.

For me, there were several highlights sprinkled around the show. I was impressed by Wacom’s Cintiq drawing tablet which is like a big iPad, a monitor with a touch interactive screen, but this tool also helps an artist achieve a natural line, digitally, with paint brushes using Photoshop or Painter software.

Also, having the chance to demo Halo 4 multiplayer was a treat for me. Halo 4 will be released on November 6th which is also election day. Yikes.

In my opinion, the best costumes (photos featured in this post) were the classic Batman (ripped, with a splash of color blue, yet darker), the ensemble of characters from Lincoln The Vampire Hunter and Captain America in his patriotic pose.

graduation cards

May 18, 2010

Graduations are coming up. For me, there are two, one high school grad and one college grad. This gives me the opportunity to try something new and create inspirational greeting cards. I keep the idea simple by doing a pencil drawing.

A set is for sale in my store.

the abominable snowman

December 18, 2009

This was a fun project for the holidays.  The goal was to indicate the feeling of Christmas without being too literal.  Plus, I wanted to create more action and adventure in my mini cartoon.
