In this Bite-Sized Fishing episode, I cast for various panfish, using a 3-inch Grub by Yum. The fish are modest in size, but all-in-all it is a perfect day to paddle and do some leaf peeping because there is no wind and the water is so calm. I slow things down and enjoy nature, creating a sort of ASMR video to share with you. Check out my outdoor video and let me know what you think.

In addition to the beauty of autumn colors, I see a Piper bird, a Blue Heron and maybe the last Turtle of the year?

Have a Happy Thanksgiving holiday weekend all!

When I go canoe/kayak fishing, I usually have a plan to start small and work my way to bigger fish. I couldn’t have planned it better myself because I catch Bluegill, a Crappie, a Channel Catfish, each being bigger than the last fish. And then end on a lunker of a Monster Bass. Happy Halloween everybody!

In this video, I feature my Largemouth Bass drawing. If you are interested to see more of my artwork, please check out My Shop.

In this Bite-Sized Fishing episode, I use different fishing techniques for multi-species such as White Perch, Bluegill and Catfish. I show you how to hold a Catfish safely, because they can stab you with their fins. Plus, I remove someone’s old discarded fishing line from the lake. Enjoy!

Thank you for watching everybody!

Pet turtles really like to bask and get some rays. During the warmers months of the year, I let my turtles get sun exposure where they can acquire important vitamin D for their shells, while they relax in tubs on my deck. I try to keep my talking to a minimum in my ASMR-type video, let the turtles have fun and let my cats watch the action!

Please note: Make sure you let your turtles out only in an enclosed fence area. Turtles can get out of their tubs! Also, use discretion in areas where there might be predators that might attack your turtles, like raccoons!

Where were you 17 years ago? Well, that is the last time the Brood X bugs were around, making ruckus in the trees. The Cicadas are here! Don’t be afraid. They may look creepy. One may smack you in the head by mistake, when flying clumsily, but they are harmless. They are simply out to look for a mate.

These red-eyed Cicadas are only in certain states on the East coast and the Midwest. So get out there and check them out because you’ll have to wait another 17 years to see them again.

Here’s a drawing I did of one critter, hanging out high in the canopy. Can you hear it buzzing away?

Happy Memorial Weekend all!

March 14, 2021

Spring is around the corner and there is more daylight, now that we spring forward our clocks! To me, that means, I can play tennis again (not to mention paddling and fishing too). Yay! The great outdoors is my gym, so I can finally get in shape again. In celebration, I do a drawing of a player that is ready to do a serve. If you’d like to see more of my drawings, please check out my store :)

What activities are you looking forward to do as the weather warms up? Let me know!

Happy Spring Everybody!

While I was fishing the other day, a bird, perched over the water, caught my eye. At first, I thought it was a Blue Jay because, well, it was blue, and it had a crest on its head. But then, it made a nice subtle chirping. Blue Jays actually make a loud alarming sound. So I knew this bird was different.

I continued to fish. An hour or so later, I saw the bird again. This time, the bird had a Bluegill in its mouth. The bluegill was almost as big as the bird itself! I suddenly realized that this bird is a Kingfisher!

I’ve seen nature shows that featured kingfishers and how good they are at catching their food from the water. And here it is right before my eyes. In honor of the sighting, I just had to draw the cute little bugger (when I got home).

Sorry to get so excited but I always wanted to see this amazing little bird in person. Plus, I am a birder enthusiast AND I love fishing. Birds that are made for catching fish are a win-win in my book :)

During the state lockdown, I let my pet turtles out of their aquarium to have a nice meal. I also take them outside to get fresh air and natural sunlight.

Check out my video to get your mind off of things right now :)  Enjoy!
