If you followed me and my blog for a long time, you know I started it to share my Outdoor & Nature artwork. Over time, my blog morphed into a way to show my Outdoor, Nature & Fishing videos. Regretfully, creating videos and editing takes so much time, and so my art suffered. I hope to throttle back on videos and squeak in my art again, if I can. Essentially, I want to try to alternate and do both of my creative hobbies for my blog website, going forward. To get to the point, it has been a while since I created a drawing and posted it, so here goes.

Red-Eared Sliders are beloved gentle creatures commonly found in the fresh water lakes and rivers of North America. I depict the turtle in its favorite environment, lakeside, relaxing during the day and basking under the sunlight. This print is perfect for someone who is a turtle-lover or simply a nature-lover in general.

My turtle print is now available on Etsy, in my store. This is a 11 x 17 print of my original illustration with a 2-inch white border. The paper size is 13 x 19. Ready for framing.

The purchase of this print does not transfer reproduction rights.

It is Spring, finally, and that means fish are spawning up the rivers. I am pleasantly surprised by the arrival of Shad while I am pan fishing. so I cast my Rapala Rippin’ Rap in hopes to catch one of these powerful Gizzard Shads! Plus, I take my pet turtle for a walk in the park to get natural sun, and to see the many blossoming flowers. Check out my video!

Here is a special posting for New Years, a vlog from my turtle! Sometimes, my pet turtle feels adventurous and wants out of her aquarium. In this video, my big turtle decides to go for a walk around the house, to explore. During her walk, she encounters herself, at a mirror, and the cats! Enjoy :)

Happy New Years everybody!

Pet turtles really like to bask and get some rays. During the warmers months of the year, I let my turtles get sun exposure where they can acquire important vitamin D for their shells, while they relax in tubs on my deck. I try to keep my talking to a minimum in my ASMR-type video, let the turtles have fun and let my cats watch the action!

Please note: Make sure you let your turtles out only in an enclosed fence area. Turtles can get out of their tubs! Also, use discretion in areas where there might be predators that might attack your turtles, like raccoons!

Have a great Labor Day Weekend, everybody!

Over the frigid winter, my turtle caught a cold. If your pet turtle is sneezing, that is bad news, because that means it has a cold. It could turn into a lung infection if not treated early. And unfortunately, there is no home remedy to a cure the problem. In a video, I show you how to bring it back to a healthy happy turtle.

Don’t worry this story has a happy ending. Check out my short video.

Happy Easter Everybody!

My Red Eared Turtle is enjoying life by basking on a log, under the sun. All by itself. A kind of “social distancing”, shall I say? On that note, be safe everybody. We will pull through this tough time. My job has closed down for 2 weeks. So I am home, trying to lift my spirits by drawing, and keeping busy. I also plan to go outside and take in the warm sun, just like my turtle!

What are you doing to stay positive? Let me know :)

clean and condition aquarium

Hey animal lovers. This is my latest short video on caring for your pet turtles. In this episode, I show you an efficient way to clean your aquarium. In addition, I show you how to re-condition the water because, straight out of the tap, levels of chlorine and pH is not the best for turtles, frogs and salamanders to drink and/or swim in. It is an easy step that your pets will appreciate, when being cared for in a tank.

My cat, Mochi, joins in on the action. She wants to be on video too, ya know. Enjoy!

This is my little drawing of a Red-Eared Turtle, commonly found in the fresh waters of North America. It is inspired by my pet turtles.

It has been a rather cold winter and I made a short video of How to Keep Your Turtle Warm. If you have pet reptiles and an aquarium too, please feel free to check it out: https://youtu.be/yJQiEjiZ5bY

Let me know what you think :)

A Red-Eared Slider climbing out to bask.  It is a chilly winter here, and I long for the warmth of the sun just like this turtle.
