Not long after hatching from its egg, the baby Salmon dodges many aquatic critters bigger than he is, like the Dragonfly Nymph. Scary as they are, the nymph has protruding mandibles and is truly the ‘face-hugger’ of the fingerling world. Swim away fast, tiny salmon!

I caught (and released) my first largemouth bass of the year. So I am celebrating with this drawing of a fish “saying hello” to a dragonfly. Just like this bass, I jumped for joy.

Here is sea full of prehistoric creatures including amphibians, fish, trilobites, and a Eurypterid, a descendant of the horseshoe crab. The collage-style composition is inspired by exhibits at the Natural History Museum. This is a print of my original pen and ink drawing, color painted digitally. Prints are available for sale in my store.

My pen and ink drawing of sea life found in the Devonian period, 416 to 359 million years ago, during the Paleozoic era.   A print of this is for sale at my shop.
