A few photos I took while in California. Quite a nice experience for the senses where everything is big. It included many grandiose views of the ocean, the mountains and of course, wine tasting in Napa Valley.

We had a SuperMoon, bigger and brighter than usual, this weekend. A haze in the sky took some nice details away from the moon surface. Even the moon deserves a soft focus, once in a while, to hide its aging blemishes.

I took some photographs while in California (that are excellent for computer wallpaper or textures). The state is especially beautiful during the Spring season, before the powerful sun turns the grassy hills into brown. In the High Sierras, where there is fresh snow melt, the waterfalls are full-on flowing majesty, however, in the lakes of the valley, it is evident that the drought is still a big problem.

As always, New York Comic Con was a blast, be it a crowded venue. Suprisingly to me, as a casual gamer, there were no booths for Microsoft Xbox, Sony Playstation or Rockstar Games like previous years. Nintendo did have plenty of representation with stations featuring their Wii U, DS, Mario and Donkey Kong lines. Still, with less video gaming stuff, that gave me more time to browse comics, toys, collectibles, meet other artists and take photographs. Here are some pics I want to share with you.

On my road trip through the state of Utah, I got lost in its other worldly desert landscape, not by mistake, but on purpose.

Hurricane Sandy, which they are calling the perfect storm, is approaching the New York area and my cat is not happy.

I hope to do some photography and artwork over the next few days, as it is not safe to be outside.

This past weekend was the Comic Con convention in NYC where geeks gather each year, including yours truly.

Needless to say, it was a challenge to snap photos in mediocre lighting (I try not to use a flash) amidst the ever-flowing crowds. Though, with the help of my trusty, fast Sony dSLR, I managed to capture some images to share with you.

For me, there were several highlights sprinkled around the show. I was impressed by Wacom’s Cintiq drawing tablet which is like a big iPad, a monitor with a touch interactive screen, but this tool also helps an artist achieve a natural line, digitally, with paint brushes using Photoshop or Painter software.

Also, having the chance to demo Halo 4 multiplayer was a treat for me. Halo 4 will be released on November 6th which is also election day. Yikes.

In my opinion, the best costumes (photos featured in this post) were the classic Batman (ripped, with a splash of color blue, yet darker), the ensemble of characters from Lincoln The Vampire Hunter and Captain America in his patriotic pose.
