illustration: tiger shark

As menacing people think this apex predator is, sharks are actually endangered, sad to say. They are an important key to balancing the ocean’s ecosystem.
My Tiger Shark is simply enjoying her life in the bountiful sea.
This my “green” drawing. Happy St. Patty’s Day!

The quick and nimble Plesiosaurus encounters the megashark, Dunkleosteus. Both creatures were deep sea dinosaurs from the prehistoric seas of early Earth. Check out my illustration which is available at my store now.
There can only be one alpha predator. Who do you think will win this battle?
sketch: salmon shark
January 7, 2016
It’s a bummer to be a salmon in a world where everybody loves to eat salmon steak and sushi. It’s even worse when salmon have an apex predator stalking them called a Salmon Shark. This is my sketch of a salmon shark on the prowl. He kinda turned out cute. Almost huggable.

sketch: two angler fish
January 13, 2012
I call this “Strangers in the Night”. It started out as a doodle, but it was fun to draw the fish. I continued it as an exercise in dark and light tones. The deep sea is mostly devoid of color, anyway. Angler fish swim at 3 thousand feet deep where no sunlight can reach.
Oh, and happy Friday the 13th, y’all! See. A scary drawing for a scary Friday.

illustration: giant octopus vs pirate ship (v2)
June 20, 2011
In the 17th century, there is a story in the high seas, where many a sailor’s life was swept away, not by the hurricanes and white squalls of the angry oceans, but rather, by a great sea creature, known as the Giant Octopus.
As night falls, the monster’s tentacles slithers aboard the Buccaneer, capturing every sailor, one by one, as a scrumptious morsel. Even the courageous captain defends his honor, with scimitar in hand, only to go down with his ship.
This is an updated version 2 of my illustration.
