I got a new rod for the new season, the St. Croix travel rod, and I test it out to see if it can handle a big Carp. Let’s see if is strong enough. Plus, wildlife, life a muskrat and turtles, come out from hibernation! I see a beautiful eagle too!

The following gear I used or appear in this video:
St. Croix 2-piece Rod 6 1/2″
Stren Original 330 Yard Spool, 8 lb test, clear blue
Gamakatsu Octopus Circle Hook, 10 Per Pack (size 8)
Reaction Tackle Drop Shot lead weights, 1/4 oz
Daiwa Procyon EX Spinning Reel 3000
Boga Grip, 15 lb scale
Aqua Bound Sting Ray Hybrid 2-Piece Kayak Paddle
Stanley Fat Max 1/2″ X 6′ Fatmax Keychain Tape Measure
Canon Vixia HF R800
GoPro Hero 8

While canoe/kayak fishing, I put Fenwick Eagle 2-Piece rod to the test to see if I can pull in a powerful fish. The quality spinning rod is medium fast with excellent feedback, but how is its strength? I hope to catch a bass, but I end up fighting a fish that is even stronger, heavier and quite possibly my personal best in weight!

Plus, I get a sighting of several Bald Eagles, flying, perched and… walking?!

Check out my video, and enjoy.

Thank you for watching everybody!

st croix travel rod

In my latest Outdoor & Nature video, I test out the strength of a 2-piece travel rod by St. Croix brand. Just to let you know, a 2-piece fishing rod is good for portability, but it is not normally as strong as a 1-piece. I get to see if it can handle aggressive fish from Sunfish to Bass to the powerful Northern Pike!

When I launch my Canoe at a river, it is usually uneventful. But suddenly, I find myself surrounded by thousands of Blackbirds. So in the spirit of Halloween, here is my video. Don’t be too scared. Blackbirds are harmless. Or are they?!

Happy Halloween y’all!
