It’s a lazy day at the cabin. The autumn leaves are starting to change here in the Upstate New York mountains. A bit too chilly to go paddling because of a cold front. So I am bonding with my cat, Mochi, and doing a little drawing of her. I have to say that it is nice to get back to my artwork.

video: pet turtles enjoy outside & relaxing sound of cicadas

Pet turtles really like to bask and get some rays. During the warmers months of the year, I let my turtles get sun exposure where they can acquire important vitamin D for their shells, while they relax in tubs on my deck. I try to keep my talking to a minimum in my ASMR-type video, let the turtles have fun and let my cats watch the action!

Please note: Make sure you let your turtles out only in an enclosed fence area. Turtles can get out of their tubs! Also, use discretion in areas where there might be predators that might attack your turtles, like raccoons!

Over the frigid winter, my turtle caught a cold. If your pet turtle is sneezing, that is bad news, because that means it has a cold. It could turn into a lung infection if not treated early. And unfortunately, there is no home remedy to a cure the problem. In a video, I show you how to bring it back to a healthy happy turtle.

video: challenge your pet turtle to work for its food

Even though pet turtles are happy swimming, eating and sunbathing, being in an aquarium may get monotonous for your pet turtle. So how about stimulating the turtle’s mind and body by making it work for its food? In this simple challenge, I let my turtle solve a puzzle to get some green leaf lettuce that is just out of reach. An eager turtle is amusing to watch. Check out my video and enjoy!

video: treat your pet turtle to a buffet feast (before changing their water)

When it is near the time to refresh the aquarium water, one of the favorite routines for my pet turtles is when I give them a feast of different foods. It’s like a buffet for the turtles including pellets, superworms, lettuce and nightcrawlers. For changing the water afterwards, I use a rounded water basin which is perfect for emptying the tank. That is, if you don’t have a siphoning set up.

My cat joins in on the action, and helps me care for the turtles too!

And now for something completely different. I made a video of How I Cut My Cat’s Nails. My video channel is mostly about the Outdoors & Nature, so I would like to categorize this one under Animals & Nature? Anyway, I usually spend a lot of time editing my stories, but this cat video is rather straight forward of me talking with my cats.
