My characters are back :) This will be my last illustration… of the decade, that is! That sounds kinda sentimental doesn’t it? Well, it is, because 2020 is upon us. Drawing is one my favorite ways to end the year. I am also a fan of science fiction and technology. Do you notice the influence? Anyway, my cartoon takes us on an another adventure. Enjoy!

By the way, I want to thank my followers, readers, fellow bloggers and fellow creators for the likes, comments and for simply sharing! How will you celebrate the end of this year and decade? Let me know!

Happy New Decade, everybody!

A new Star Wars movie is out this weekend, but the story that has engaged fans is really in the series, The Mandalorian. Mando and Baby Yoda are the breakout stars. Everything about the series production throws back to the formula of the original Star Wars movies, as in their practical effects, beautiful sets, amazing creatures and engaging actors. Not overdoing the CGI. The show revisits characters and alien species we loved from Episodes IV, V and VI. The element that really works is the simple stories that revolve around Mando and his sidekick, Baby Yoda.

So my fan art illustration goes to Baby Yoda in The Mandalorian.

Snapping Turtles are gentle creatures. Just don’t try to pet them! I had remastered my Snapping Turtle illustration for poster size 11 x 17 (on 13 x 19 paper). It is now available at my store :)

Do you want to see something odd? I had encountered a Snapping Turtle that was floating on the water surface while I was canoeing. Normally, snappers rest on the bottom of the river or lake, awaiting dinner to pass by their face. Check out my short video which I call “The Unsinkable Turtle”. Enjoy!

illustration: stone crab

The Stone Crab is commonly found in the marshes of South Carolina to Florida to Lousiana. Their claws are so large that they are considered a popular delicacy. After one or both of their claws are removed for harvesting, the crab is then returned to the sea where they can miraculously grow back their claws. Fully grown back, in 3 years time, that is.

The stone crab was a fun drawing to do because I got to the chance to experiment with texture on a fascinating creature. I wanted to apply spontaneous brushwork as if the crab was blending in with the rocks or sand. This watercolor painting of mine is remastered for 11 x 17 size print. My illustration is available at my store. Check it out :)
