drawing: tennis defensive forehand

In a competitive game, it is best to move forward and be offensive, but if your opponent pushes you back, then you are forced to become defensive. In my action drawing, with Nadal as my example, he is literally pushed back on his heels. There are still several moves to choose from, such as a defensive lob to stay in play or as Nadal likes to do, go for broke by hitting the ball down the line.

Indians Wells, in the desert of southern California, just began. It runs from March 12 to 22. Some call it the 5th Major and rightfully so with all the big names it draws.

Just last weekend, I was ice fishing and cross country skiing. Then, this week brought upper 40 degree temps, melting away the ice and snow. I can feel spring is around the corner. I’m ready warmers days (and tennis)! Are you? What activities are you looking forward to do?
