Welcome all! I am an artist in the New York metro area. In college, I received a BFA degree in graphic design with a concentration in computer graphics. Currently, I specialize in design for the web and print. In addition, I create fine art in oil paint, watercolor, pencil, and pen/ink mediums.
I have a little online store with some of my art work for sale. Please feel free to visit my store and take a peak!
The subject matter of my art is by no means just about design and dinosaurs, but rather about anything that inspires me at the time. In fact, I can’t stay on one idea too long. But I will certainly revisit a given theme in the near future. For instance, I love cycling, so you will see bicycle illustrations pop up in my blog sporadically.
Other themes you will find in my art blog are sea life, animals, nature, figure drawings, sci-fi, fantasy, day of the dead and occasionally photography.
Comments are appreciated! My policy is if you leave a comment and your blog address, I will visit you and comment back on your blog.
Thank you for visiting and enjoy!

Enjoyed browsing through your portfolio and blog sites. You are soooo talented! Loved the photos of your biking in the Catskills, the pets, and your various trips. Especially liked your portfolio with the winter scene and other nature scenery.
We were thrilled to meet Bert, the Shading Art Director, at Pixar studios. What a friendly, down-to-earth fellow he seems to be. Also video taped his question-and-answer session after we saw the film he worked on, “WALL-E”. Did you see this movie?
Love,
M

Hi, Al, would it be possible to use your 9/17/09 illustration of a blue crab for the back image on a limited run of t-shirts for a crab-feast at a co-worker’s house, this month?
Many of us at National Geographic get together for a few bushels of crabs at our co-workers house on Kent Island, on the eastern short of the Chesapeake Bay in September each year, and I wanted to do a nice t-shirt for everyone to mark the occasions.
Your design seemed very nice and appropriate for this purpose. Could you let me know what your fee would be to reproduce the image on 40 – 80, maybe as many as 100 t-shirts for this event?
Is would have to be quick, though because its held this year on 9/17. What’s your size? We’ll send you one too. Could you supply a larger scan than is available on the web?
Next year we’re hoping to get them done by Crazy Shirts in Hawaii – if we get the right design (your image plus wording) it might turn into something for several of our friends, who run restaurants on the outer banks, etc. Just thinking beyond the current project.
Let us know, Cheers, Tom & Janne Puckett
